Besug Event: How to integrate Silverlight in Sharepoint

Besug organises a new session in May.  The objective of this session is to focus on the advantages of using Silverlight in Sharepoint and build a real-life application in 2 hours.

The session will be presented by Karine Bosch.  She started her career as a Sharepoint Developer with the release of Sharepoint 2003 and developed her CAML Query Builder (a tool that allows to create dynamic CAML queries using a Windows user interface).  After the release of Sharepoint 2007 beta, Karine participated in a couple of projects for Microsoft Redmond.  One of the projects was the Silverlight Blueprint for Sharepoint.  This project contains some samples on how you can integrate Silverlight with Sharepoint.  At this moment, Karine works as a freelancer for the Ted Pattisson Group (USA) and Andrew Connell.

The session will take place on the 14th of May at the Microsoft buildings in Zaventem and is totally free of charge.  The sessions start at 19u and ends at 21u.  Places are limited, so be sure to register at http://www.besug.be

Silverlight tutorial: datagrid, chart, deep zoom and more…

The Belgian Silverlight User Group organises a workshop today. In the workshop we will create a small Silverlight application about the Belgian elections in 2007. The application will show the results from certain committees. This data is shown in a datagrid and in two charts. The application also has a deep zoom sections that dynamically positions images and can make a selection.

BESUG event: hands-on workshop + New Year’s drink

On January 15th, BESUG organizes his second event.  This time it will be a hands-on workshop with a New Year’s drink afterwards.

In this workshop, we will build a small Silverlight 2.0 application that shows some nice stuff you can do with Silverlight 2.0 and give some tips & tricks.  You don’t have to be a Silverlight geek for this workshop, but an understanding of C# and XAML is recommended.

This event is totally free of charge and is organized with the cooperation of Multimediacollege and Plugmedia.

The Silverlight lottery

Today is the big day for the Belgian Silverlight User Group.  This evening we are having our launch event!!!

There are some Silverlight books that will be distributed among the attendees with a lottery.  And what could we do better then build a virtual lottery in Silverlight 2.0.

The complete source code of this project is available here.  It especially shows how you can animate particles in a canvas and how to embed fonts.
