In the first keynote of Mix, Scott Guthrie himself announced the release of the first Silverlight 3 beta. I’m very excited about this release. Some of the new features:
- 3D effects
- Pixel shaders
- It will be possible to create Silverlight applications that runs outside the browser ( on PC and Mac! )
- It will be possible to import Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop files into Expression Blend and even edit the file with Expression Blend.
I’m especially looking forward to work with this last 2 features. You can download the visual studio tools for Silverlight 3 and Expression Blend 3 preview from http://silverlight.net. Every session at Mix will also be available for download 24 hours after the session. Check it out at http://live.visitmix.com/.
As soon as I’m back from Mix, I start creating some tutorials about Silverlight 3 that I will post here.
